![]() Takes very little time to have one up and running. There is a quick tool (ark server manager) that will help you set up the settings and download the server side files to run things. So first big thing is find a private server or make one. This is your free time and you should be able to play the game not grind wood and metal. This is not an MMO that you need to spend days out getting wood to make a table. Bumping the tame timers even to 2x will make life so much better, I really thing people should play on 5x those and that goes for XP and Gathering. This is why you don't play on their servers. They did want Ark to be a PVP styled game so they put crazy timers on a bunch of stuff giving other tribes a chance to steal things. Most people should know those parts by now and they aren't anything to crazy. I wont go over the graphics and the normal features of the game. New Ark is doing really good to cover what players wanted. I can play basic Ark but I wouldn't really have anybody play with out a stack of about 10 mods to add the depth of game play thats needed to make this one of the greatest games. So old Ark was bad. This lead to them fixing tons of bugs and quality of life junk. The cool thing is they pulled all the people off ark just about and they stopped focusing on what the programs did. ![]() They are making the same mistakes on it they did early on with ark. This is Atlas and well its the same as old Ark right now and I would stay away until the growing pains die. They had another DLC planed that would have been a pirate styled attachment but they figured hey why not make that one into its own game. We are just talking politics of the game at the moment. They kept the programmers hands tied so they couldn't fix things and wanted to pump out more DLC and really it left a bad taste for most people. Thank you for tag Xan.First the main developer of this game is both super gifted and really a freakin idiot. I am off every other Friday so I wouldn't have seen this until Monday. I wonder how Zak will respond to this review. Especially when trying to tame some of the larger dinosaurs in the game. I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea as it is a large grind fest. I put in about 200+ hours into the game, which for me is a ton of time into one game given I don't have a lot of time to devote to gaming. I would never have played on a public server but had a lot of fun playing on the private server. If it gets better, it doesn’t matter if you’ve made your mind up. With me but as mentioned if you stopped watching a series and say it sucks even There’s probably going to be so many disagreeing In my opinion yes, I dedicated enough hours into the game toĮstablish if it was bad or not and if it had sold itself to me, I’d be a devout ![]() Now but I’m probably not going to go back to it.
